Auch in Frankreich existiert eine sehr rührige NUMMER-6-szene, ihre offizielle website ist Le Rôdeur, mehr (NUMMER 6-links).

Gleich zu beginn wird Nummer Sechs von einer taxifahrerin auf französisch angesprochen: "Où désirez-vous aller?" - "Wohin wollen sie?" Warum sie ihn auf französisch angesprochen habe: "Französisch ist international." Insgesamt sind es aber nur ein paar brocken französisch, die hier und da vorkommen. Das französische fernsehen sendete eine synchronisierte fassung. Und so gibt es den prolog der serie natürlich auch auf französisch:

– Où suis-je ?
– Au Village.
– Que voulez-vous?
– Des renseignements.
– Dans quel camp êtes-vous?
– Vous le saurez en temps utile... Nous voulons des renseignements, des renseignements, des renseignements.
– Vous n'en aurez pas!
– De gré ou de force, vous parlerez.
– Qui êtes-vous?
– Je suis le nouveau Numéro Deux.
– Qui est le Numéro Un?
– Vous êtes le Numéro Six.
– Je ne suis pas un numéro, je suis un homme libre!
– Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! Ha ! ...

Das französische äquivalent für das sprichwort "Six of one, half a dozen of the other", das der Prisoner Appreciation Society den namen gab, lautet "Blanc bonnet, bonnet blanc." (so viel wie "weiße haube, haube weiß").

In France one very active PRISONER group operates Le Rôdeur, their official website, more. (PRISONER-links).

It is at the outset of the series that Number Six is addressed in French by a lady cabdriver: "Où désirez-vous aller?" - "Where to, Sir?" Asked why she spoke French to him she replies, "French is international." But all in all it is only a handful of words that come in French. A dubbing version of THE PRISONER was aired on French television. Thus, the prologue also is in that language (see above).

The French equivalent to the proverb "Six of one, half a dozen of the other" that gave the name for the Prisoner Appreciation Society goes like this, "Blanc bonnet, bonnet blanc."
